Dazu verwenden wir ausschließlich Süßwasserbinsen, die von Hand geflochten werden.
Stühle sind die meist beanspruchten Möbel im Haushalt. Da ist es nicht erstaunlich, dass auch ein Stuhl, der sich über Jahre bewährt hat, mal „aus dem Leim geht“, sich die Oberfläche abnutzt, Streben brechen, das Geflecht oder Polster kaputt geht. Hier können wir in jeder Hinsicht Abhilfe schaffen.
Es ist schön, wenn die Stühle, auf denen man als Kind gesessen hat, überarbeitet, und die Geflechte aus Binsen erneuert werden sollen. Was jedoch, wenn sich keiner findet, der das Binsenflechten beherrscht? Wir haben uns selber auf die Suche nach einem Bauern gemacht, der Süßwasserbinsen noch erntet, haben ihn besucht, und Binsenbündel mitgenommen. Nach langer Recherche über dieses Kunsthandwerk in alten Büchern, haben wir uns an die schöne Arbeit gewagt, bis wir das Binsenflechten von Hand beherrschten.
